Grilled Tri-Tip Steak with Tiger Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds tri-tip steak
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons Chinese five spice seasoning (optional)
- 2 teaspoons sriracha sauce
- â…” cup teriyaki sauce
- â…“ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (or garlic chili sauce)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice, or more to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, 2 tablespoons lime juice, garlic, five spice (if using), and 2 teaspoons sriracha to make the marinade.
- Add tri-tip steak, toss to coat, cover, and marinate for 20-30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the tiger sauce by stirring together mayo and 1 tablespoon sriracha. Add lime juice and stir; thin with water if needed for a drizzling consistency.
- Preheat grill to high heat. Remove steak from marinade (discard marinade) and sear 2 minutes per side.
- Reduce grill heat to medium and continue cooking 8-10 minutes until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- Remove steak from grill and let rest 5 minutes.
- Slice across the grain and drizzle with teriyaki sauce and tiger sauce. Serve immediately.
