Ham and Cheese Sliders

Ingredients

  • 12 sweet buns (Hawaiian rolls)
  • 1/2 pound ham, sliced
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons minced onion
  • salt, to taste (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 2-3 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning or poppy/sesame seeds

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray, or line with parchment or foil.
  2. Slice all 12 buns in half horizontally.
  3. Place the bottom halves in the baking dish. Layer with ham, then Swiss and provolone cheese. Top with the other half of the buns.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter, honey, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced onion, salt, and hot sauce.
  5. Brush the butter mixture over the tops of the sliders. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning or poppy/sesame seeds.
  6. Cover the dish with foil.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes, until the ham is warmed through and cheese is melted.
  8. Remove the foil and bake an additional 5 minutes to lightly brown the tops (optional).
  9. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
