Wheat Button Sweet (Aate ki Mithai)

Ingredients
- 1½ cups wheat flour
- 1 cup milk powder, unsweetened
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp ghee
- ½ cup warm milk, for kneading
- oil, for frying
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 pods cardamom
- 2 cups water
Steps
- In a large bowl, mix wheat flour, milk powder, and baking powder.
- Add ghee and mix until the flour becomes moist.
- Add warm milk and knead into a smooth, soft dough, adding more milk as needed.
- Roll the dough to a slightly thick sheet.
- Cut into small circles using a bottle cap.
- Fry the circles in hot oil on low flame, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.
- Drain the fried pieces to remove excess oil and set aside.
- In a large vessel, combine sugar, cardamom pods, and water.
- Boil the mixture for 2 minutes until the syrup turns sticky, without reaching one-string consistency.
- Pour the hot sugar syrup over the fried pieces, ensuring they are fully dipped.
- Let the pieces soak in the syrup for 2 hours or until they absorb it completely.
- Garnish with chopped nuts and serve.
