Air Fryer Chicken Thighs

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken thighs (4 to 6 pieces)
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced (about 3 tablespoons juice)
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • 1 tablespoon ras el hanout (or spice blend of choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, mix olive oil, lemon zest and juice, garlic, ras el hanout, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Pat chicken thighs dry and add to the marinade, turning to coat each piece.
  3. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or cover and refrigerate up to a day ahead.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 380°F for 5 minutes.
  5. Place chicken thighs skin side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces.
  6. Cook about 10 minutes until beginning to brown.
  7. Flip and cook 6 to 8 minutes more until well browned and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Optional: increase temperature to 400°F and air fry 2 to 3 minutes more to crisp the skin.
  9. Remove chicken from air fryer and rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ras el hanout can be substituted with another spice blend of choice.
