Air Fryer Chicken Thighs

Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken thighs (4 to 6 pieces)
- 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced (about 3 tablespoons juice)
- 2 garlic cloves, grated
- 1 tablespoon ras el hanout (or spice blend of choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Steps
- In a large bowl, mix olive oil, lemon zest and juice, garlic, ras el hanout, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
- Pat chicken thighs dry and add to the marinade, turning to coat each piece.
- Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or cover and refrigerate up to a day ahead.
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F for 5 minutes.
- Place chicken thighs skin side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces.
- Cook about 10 minutes until beginning to brown.
- Flip and cook 6 to 8 minutes more until well browned and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Optional: increase temperature to 400°F and air fry 2 to 3 minutes more to crisp the skin.
- Remove chicken from air fryer and rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Ras el hanout can be substituted with another spice blend of choice.
