Simple Cherry Cake (Egyszerű cseresznyés kevert süti)

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 0.5 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1.5 dl sour cream
  • 0.5 lemon (zest and juice)
  • 0.5 packet baking powder
  • 150 g fine flour
  • 500 g cherries
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • salt

Steps

  1. Pit the cherries and toss them with the powdered sugar mixed with cinnamon.
  2. Beat the eggs with the powdered sugar and vanilla sugar.
  3. Mix in the sour cream, grated lemon zest, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Sift in the flour mixed with baking powder and stir until smooth and lump-free.
  5. Spread the batter into a medium baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  6. Arrange the cherries on top of the batter.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 30 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
  8. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
  9. Slice and serve dusted with powdered sugar.
