Ingredients
- 3 oz dark chocolate (60-70%), chopped
- 1 (15.5 oz) can chickpeas, drained
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/3 cup honey (or powdered sugar)
- 3 tbsp Dutch-processed cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp espresso powder (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp sea salt, plus more to taste
- 2-4 tbsp milk of choice, as needed
- Strawberry, banana, or apple slices, for serving
- Pretzels, for serving
- Graham crackers, for serving
- Vanilla wafers, for serving
- Rice cake chips, for serving
Steps
- Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-30 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Add chickpeas, tahini, honey, cocoa powder, espresso powder (if using), vanilla, salt, and melted chocolate to a food processor or blender.
- Blend until completely smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, blending until the mixture is smooth and scoopable like a soft frosting.
- Taste and adjust with more honey for sweetness or a pinch of salt to enhance the chocolate flavor.
- Transfer to a serving bowl. Optionally top with mini chocolate chips or a drizzle of melted chocolate and flaky sea salt.
- Serve with fruit, pretzels, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or rice cake chips.
