Pull-Apart Garlic-Herb Biscuits
🇺🇸 United States
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp chopped fresh chives
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1 stick (8 tbsp) salted butter, cubed
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, rosemary, salt, 1/2 cup parmesan, and 1 tablespoon chives.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk and egg. Gradually stir the buttermilk mixture into the flour mixture until just combined.
- Place butter in a 4 1/2 x 8 1/2-inch loaf pan and warm in the oven until melted, 3-5 minutes. Reserve 1 tablespoon of melted butter in a small bowl. Add garlic to the remaining butter in the pan.
- Pour the biscuit batter into the pan and spread evenly. Using a metal spatula, cut the batter into 8-10 portions by pressing straight down to the bottom of the pan.
- Sprinkle the top with the remaining 2 tablespoons parmesan.
- Bake until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden, 40-45 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes before removing from the pan.
- Reheat the reserved butter if needed, stir in the remaining 1 teaspoon chives, and brush over the top of the loaf.
