Boiled Corn on the Cob

Ingredients

  • 4 ears corn on the cob
  • 1-2 tbsp sugar (optional)
  • butter and salt, for serving (optional)

Steps

  1. Remove husks and silk from the corn; trim ends if needed.
  2. Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the corn and bring to a rolling boil. Add sugar if desired.
  3. Add corn to the boiling water. Boil small to medium ears 3-4 minutes, larger ears 5-6 minutes, until crisp-tender.
  4. Remove corn with tongs and serve warm with butter and salt.
