Boiled Corn on the Cob

Ingredients
- 4 ears corn on the cob
- 1-2 tbsp sugar (optional)
- butter and salt, for serving (optional)
Steps
- Remove husks and silk from the corn; trim ends if needed.
- Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the corn and bring to a rolling boil. Add sugar if desired.
- Add corn to the boiling water. Boil small to medium ears 3-4 minutes, larger ears 5-6 minutes, until crisp-tender.
- Remove corn with tongs and serve warm with butter and salt.
