Homemade Taco Seasoning

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp coconut sugar
  • 2-3 tsp sea salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp chipotle powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin

Steps

  1. Add all ingredients to a jar or mixing bowl.
  2. Stir or shake well to combine, breaking down clumps of nutritional yeast so it disperses evenly.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed: more chipotle powder for heat, coconut sugar for sweetness, smoked paprika for smokiness, or salt to taste.
  4. Use to season taco meat, beans, or vegetables, or sprinkle over roasted potatoes.
  5. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 6 months, or refrigerate/freeze for up to 1 year.

Notes

Adjust salt if using a salted chili powder blend.
