Basic Boiled Rice

Ingredients
- 240 g long-grain rice (e.g. basmati, jasmine, parboiled, or whole grain)
- 1.5 liters water
- 1 tsp salt
Steps
- Rinse the rice in a sieve under cold water until desired clarity is reached.
- Put the rinsed rice into a pot with 1.5 liters of water and 1 tsp salt. Stir once.
- Bring the water to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered over medium heat for about 15 minutes (rice can foam up due to proteins, so avoid covering).
- Check if the rice is tender after 15 minutes, then drain in a sieve.
