Roasted Chickpeas from the Oven

Ingredients

  • 215 g chickpeas (canned or jarred, drained)
  • 1 tbsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan/convection).
  2. Drain the chickpeas in a sieve and rinse under running water; discard any loose skins.
  3. Spread the chickpeas on paper towels and pat dry.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, salt, cayenne pepper, cumin, and paprika to make a marinade.
  5. Toss the chickpeas thoroughly with the marinade and spread them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake on the middle rack for 30 minutes. If not crispy enough, bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. For extra crispiness, open the oven door 2-3 times during baking to let moisture escape.

Notes

Serve as a crunchy snack; adjust baking time for desired crispiness.
