Crustless Quiche with Green Beans and Ham
🇫🇷 France
Ingredients
- 1 can green beans, drained
- 4 slices ham, cut into strips
- 2 pots plain skyr (or plain yogurt)
- 4 eggs
- 80 g grated Gruyère cheese
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) with fan setting. Oil a baking dish or tart pan, covering the bottom and sides.
- Drain the green beans in a colander for several minutes; pat dry with paper towel if needed.
- Cut the ham into strips, then into medium-sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the skyr until smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Stir in the grated Gruyère, reserving a small handful to sprinkle on top if you want a golden crust.
- Add the green beans and ham to the bowl and gently mix to coat evenly.
- Pour the mixture into the oiled dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 180°C, until the center is set and the top is golden; a knife inserted should come out clean.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, at room temperature, or cold with a green salad.
