Crustless Quiche with Green Beans and Ham

🇫🇷 France

Servings: 4 Prep: 10 minutes Cook: 30 minutes Total: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 can green beans, drained
  • 4 slices ham, cut into strips
  • 2 pots plain skyr (or plain yogurt)
  • 4 eggs
  • 80 g grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) with fan setting. Oil a baking dish or tart pan, covering the bottom and sides.
  2. Drain the green beans in a colander for several minutes; pat dry with paper towel if needed.
  3. Cut the ham into strips, then into medium-sized pieces.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the skyr until smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  5. Stir in the grated Gruyère, reserving a small handful to sprinkle on top if you want a golden crust.
  6. Add the green beans and ham to the bowl and gently mix to coat evenly.
  7. Pour the mixture into the oiled dish and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes at 180°C, until the center is set and the top is golden; a knife inserted should come out clean.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, at room temperature, or cold with a green salad.
