Crispy Plantain Chips

Ingredients

  • 2 green plantains
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper (optional)
  • 1/8 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Oil (for frying, or cooking spray for air frying/baking)

Steps

  1. Peel the green plantains and slice thinly into rounds.
  2. Season the slices with salt, black pepper, and paprika if using.
  3. To fry: heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the plantain slices until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  4. To air fry: preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C), lightly spray the plantain slices with cooking oil, and air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until crispy.
  5. Serve immediately.

Notes

Can be made by frying, air frying, or baking depending on preference.
