Dot Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix, any flavor
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • Frosting, homemade or store-bought
  • Sprinkles

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 13x9 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, butter, milk, and eggs.
  3. Mix with a handheld mixer or whisk until well combined.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or according to box directions.
  5. Remove cake from oven and let cool to room temperature.
  6. Place sprinkles into a bowl for dipping.
  7. Press a small mason jar or paper cup into the cake to cut out a cylinder, then lift it out.
  8. Push the cake piece down so it rests at the bottom of the jar.
  9. Scoop 1-2 tablespoons of frosting on top and level with an angled spatula or butter knife.
  10. Dip the frosted top into the sprinkles to coat.
