Homemade Coconut Milk

Ingredients
- 1 large coconut
- Water, enough to cover coconut meat
Steps
- Pierce the soft eye of the coconut with a skewer and drain out the water.
- Smash the coconut open with a hammer.
- Remove the coconut meat from the shell using a flat, dull knife.
- Wash the coconut meat, then add it to a blender with enough water to cover it. Blend until smooth, working in batches if needed.
- Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth to extract the milk.
Notes
Amount of water used affects the richness and yield of the milk.
