Chicken Dry Rub

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1½ teaspoon dried thyme
- 1½ teaspoons dried oregano
- 1½ teaspoons ground sage
- ½ tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon celery seed (optional)
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
Steps
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a small bowl or jar.
- Store tightly covered in a cool place until ready to use.
- Sprinkle generously and evenly over whole chicken or chicken parts, coating well.
- Let chicken rest with the rub for about 30 minutes before cooking.
