Smoked Tuna Dip

Ingredients

  • 10 oz smoked tuna (or two 5-oz cans)
  • ½-¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ lemon, juiced (about 1 tablespoon)
  • 1-2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1-2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Creole seasoning (optional)
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½-1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • hot sauce, to taste
  • 1 green onion, diced
  • 1-2 drops liquid smoke (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, for garnish

Steps

  1. Flake the smoked tuna (drain and flake first if using canned tuna).
  2. In a large bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, Creole seasoning, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, hot sauce, and green onions.
  3. If using canned tuna, add a drop or two of liquid smoke.
  4. Whisk by hand or with an electric mixer until it reaches your preferred consistency; whisk more for a creamier texture.
  5. Chill in the fridge for 30-60 minutes to firm up and develop flavor.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with crackers or chips.
