Crockpot Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 pounds pork roast (shoulder or butt)
  • 2 teaspoons dehydrated minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons dehydrated minced onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 liter cola
  • 20 ounces barbecue sauce

Steps

  1. Place the pork roast in a 5-quart crockpot.
  2. Season the pork with garlic, onion, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Pour in the liquid smoke and cola until the roast is covered.
  4. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 to 10 hours.
  5. Transfer the roast to a serving platter, discard any bones, and trim excess fat.
  6. Shred the pork with two forks.
  7. Coat the shredded pork with barbecue sauce and serve.
